  Amrit Lal edges out Sanjeev Kumar and Lakshya Nagar in three-way playoff to win first title at PGTI NEXGEN Hosted by Patna Golf Club

  Chandigarh’s Amrit Lal edged out Lucknow golfer Sanjeev Kumar and Noida’s Lakshya Nagar in a three-way playoff to register his first professional win at the PGTI NEXGEN 2025 Hosted by Patna Golf Club.

  The 25-year-old Amrit Lal (70-70-74), the overnight joint leader, fired a final round of two-over 74 to end the regulation 54 holes tied at the top of the leaderboard along with Sanjeev Kumar (72-70-72) and Lakshya Nagar (68-72-74) at a total score of two-under 214.

  Amrit Lal and Lakshya Nagar end day two as joint leaders

  Chandigarh’s Amrit Lal (70-70) and Noida’s Lakshya Nagar (68-72) shot scores of two-under 70 and even-par 72 respectively to end day two as joint leaders at a total of four-under 140 at the PGTI NEXGEN 2025 Hosted by Patna Golf Club.

  Lucknow’s Sanjeev Kumar (70) and Jamshedpur’s Kurush Heerjee (71) were tied third at a total score of two-under 142, two shots behind the leaders.

  Md Nawab (71) was the highest-placed Patna golfer in tied eighth at two-over 146.

  Varun Sahay (70) was the other Patna-based professional to make the cut. He was placed tied 29th at eight-over 152.

  Vinay Kumar Yadav and Lakshya Nagar shoot scores of four-under to hold joint lead in round one of PGTI NEXGEN Hosted by Patna Golf Club

  Delhi’s Vinay Kumar Yadav and Noida’s Lakshya Nagar shot scores of four-under 68 to hold the joint lead in round one of the sixth event of the PGTI NEXGEN season being played at the Patna Golf Club.

  Chandigarh’s Amrit Lal carded a two-under 70 to be placed third.

  The Patna Golf Club is a par-72 nine-hole course where the nine holes are played twice to comprise a round.

  Vinay Kumar Yadav made two birdies on the front-nine thanks to a couple of quality chip-putts and then went on to add two more birdies on the back-nine with courtesy another top-class chip-putt and an outstanding drive on the Par-4 14th that found the green.

  PGTI NEXGEN Hosted by Patna Golf Club heralds return of professional golf to Patna after 14 years

  The sixth event of the 2025 Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) NEXGEN season will be the PGTI NEXGEN Hosted by Patna Golf Club which will be played from September 2 – 4 at the Patna Golf Club.

  The tournament offers a prize purse of INR 20 lakh and marks the return of professional golf and the PGTI to Patna after 14 years. The event will be played over three rounds (54 holes) with the cut being applied after two rounds (36 holes). The top-36 players and ties will make the cut for the third and final round.
