    Priyanshu Singh wins shootout of rookies, defeats Kshitij Naveed Kaul in playoff to register maiden win

    Teenager Kaul falls short of second title despite spectacular final round of 60

    In what turned out to be a shootout between two promising rookies and emerging names of Indian golf, Gurugram-based Priyanshu Singh defeated Delhi’s Kshitij Naveed Kaul in a playoff at the TATA Steel PGTI’s Jaipur Open 2019 to register his maiden win.

    Twenty-three-year-old Priyanshu, the 2019 PGTI Qualifying School champion, and 18-year-old Kshitij, a winner on the PGTI this season, went into the playoff after both ended the regulation 72 holes with matching totals of 19-under-261 at the Rambagh Golf Club.

    Syed Saqib Ahmed fires a blistering 61 to storm into three-shot lead after round two of Jaipur Open 2019

    Saqib equals record for lowest score after two rounds at a TATA Steel PGTI event

    Bengaluru’s Syed Saqib Ahmed fired a blistering nine-under-61 in round two of the TATA Steel PGTI’s Jaipur Open 2019 to storm into a three-shot lead at 15-under-125 at the Rambagh Golf Club.

    Saqib, a former winner on the PGTI, thus equaled Vikrant Chopra’s record for the lowest score after two rounds at a PGTI event. Noida-based Vikrant had also achieved the feat at the Rambagh Golf Club during the inaugural Jaipur Open in 2017.

    Abhinav Lohan went on a birdie-spree in round one of the TATA Steel PGTI’s Jaipur Open 2019 at the Rambagh Golf Club as he put up a sensational score of nine-under-61 to take the lead. The Faridabad-based Lohan, who plays at the DLF Golf & Country Club in Gurugram, finished his round with an astounding seven consecutive birdies.

    Gurugram-based Shivendra Singh Sisodia and Bengaluru’s M Dharma also came up with captivating rounds of eight-under-62 to end the first day in tied second place.

    The TATA Steel Professional Golf Tour of India (PGTI) and the Rajasthan State Sports Council will be jointly staging the Jaipur Open 2019. The third edition of the tournament, carrying a prize purse of Rs. 30 lakhs, will be played at the Rambagh Golf Club in Jaipur from September 24th – 27th, 2019. The Pro-Am event will be played on September 28th.
