CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

 

  • Jamal Hossain is one of the brightest talents to emerge from Bangladesh after Md Siddikur Rahman.

 

  • With a win at the IndianOil SERVO Masters, runner-up result at the Vishwa Samudra Open presented by Kapil Dev and two other top-10s, Jamal finished seventh in the 2024 PGTI Order of Merit.

 

  • Hossain ended eighth on the 2023 PGTI Order of Merit as a result of a win, a runner-up finish, a joint runner-up finish and another top-10. He won the Ahmedabad Open presented by Glade One, took the runner-up spot at India Cements Pro Championship and was joint runner-up at Jeev Milkha Singh Invitational presented by TAKE Sports.

 

  • Jamal’s eight top-10s in 2022 meant he notched up eighth place in the PGTI’s money list. He registered two back-to-back runner-up finishes and a joint runner-up result during the season. His back-to-back runner-up finishes came at the TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship presented by Chandigarh Golf Club and the Prometheus School presents Delhi-NCR Open. His joint runner-up result came at the TATA Steel PGTI Players Championship presented by American Express hosted by Govt of Haryana & Panchkula Golf Club.   

 

  • He won the Bengal Open 2019 and accumulated two other top-10s the same year to finish 16th in the PGTI’s merit list.

 

  • Jamal clinched the runner-up position at the BTI Open 2018 played in Dhaka. In the same season, he also posted three other top-10s to secure 20th place on the PGTI Order of Merit.

 

  • Hossain took the 23rd spot in the 2016 PGTI Ranking as a result of his top-3 finishes at the Express Exclusive presents Chennai Open and the 15th TATA Open. He also claimed two other top-10s in 2016.  

 

  • A runner-up finish at the PGTI Noida Masters 2014 along with two other top-10s in the same year helped him end up 19th on the PGTI Order of Merit.

 

  • Jamal finished seventh on the 2013 PGTI Order of Merit after seven top-10s in the season. His best result of the year was a joint runner-up finish at the PGTI Players Championship in Chandigarh.

 

  • Jamal Hossain won the American Express Bangladesh Open in 2012 to bag his first title after turning professional. He had two other top-10s in the same season that helped him finish 24th on the PGTI’s merit list.

 

  • Jamal’s three top-10s in 2011 saw him finish 26th on the PGTI’s money list.

 

  • Hossain won the City Bank – Dhaka Bank Bangladesh Open 2009 while he was still an amateur. He thus became the first player to win a PGTI event as an amateur.
