Gaganjeet Bhullar begins Andalucia Masters with a three-under-68 to be tied 11th
Anirban Lahiri's three-under-69 places him tied 55th at Rocket Mortgage Classic
Gaganjeet Bhullar's opening round of three-under-68 placed him tied 11th and three off the lead at the European Tour's Andalucia Masters.
Three players, who are not already exempt and who finish in the top 10 at the Andalucia Masters, will secure places at The Open at Royal Portrush next month.
Bhullar, who made a hole-in-one during last week's event in Germany, struck five birdies and two bogeys in the first round.
SSP Chawrasia and Shiv Kapur shot scores of 74 to be tied 112th while Shubhankar Sharma was tied 151st after his round of 79.
Elsewhere, at the PGA Tour's Rocket Mortgage Classic in Detroit, Michigan, Anirban Lahiri began his campaign with a three-under-69 to be tied 55th and six off the lead. Lahiri went bogey-free on Thursday.
