Amardip Malik signed for a five-under-65, his career-best score outside the country, to be placed fourth in round two of Queens Cup
India's Amardip Malik signed for a second round of five-under-65 to take fourth place on his own at the Queen's Cup. The round of 65 marked Malik's career-best score outside the country and took his total to nine-under-131.
The lead was held by American Johannes Veerman at 13-under-127.
Amardip strung together six birdies and a bogey on Friday and needed only 24 putts during his round.
Malik said, "I have been playing well for a bit now. This is my first start outside the country. I hit it well all day so my game is feeling good.
"I kept it together all day. The highlight of my round would have to be on the last hole when I made a 35-footer for birdie. I wasn’t expecting it, and just wanted to make a two-putt for par. But it came out of nowhere and it was a nice end to a good round.
"I made a lot of good up and downs to save par today. I am very excited because this is my best score ever outside of the country and I just feel really good going into the weekend."
M Dharma was the next best Indian in tied 12th at six-under-134.
