Shubhankar Sharma strikes a one-under-69, his first sub-par round at a Major, to be tied 33rd on Day 1 of PGA Championship, Anirban Lahiri lies tied 48th at even-par-70

India’s Shubhankar Sharma fired an opening round of one-under-69 to take a share of 33rd place at the PGA Championship on Thursday. It was his first sub-par round at a Major.

Shubhankar, the current Asian Tour money list leader, mixed his card with three birdies and two bogeys to stay five shots back of American leader Gary Woodland at the year’s final Major.

Anirban Lahiri signed for an even-par-70 to end the day in tied 48th place at the Bellerive Country Club. His eventful round featured five birdies and five bogeys.
