Shubhankar Sharma loses to Xander Schauffele in his second match at WGC-Dell Match Play, crashes out of the tournament
India's Shubhankar Sharma lost his second match in succession at the WGC-Dell Match Play in Austin, Texas, and as a result crashed out of the tournament.
Shubhankar, who had earlier lost his opening match of the event to Spaniard Sergio Garcia, once again ended up on the losing side in his match against American Xander Schauffele. Sharma was defeated by a 3 & 1 margin.
European Tour and Asian Tour Order of Merit leader Sharma's second straight loss ended his challenge as only one out of four players advance to the next stage, the round of 16, from each group.
The world no. 69 Shubhankar will be up against South African Dylan Frittelli in his third and last match of the tournament which will be played on Friday.
