Lahiri shoots final round 66 to claim creditable tied ninth at BMW Championship
Moves up to 51st in FedEx Cup standings
Anirban Lahiri came up with his week's best round of five-under-66 on the final day of the PGA Tour's BMW Championship to finish a creditable tied ninth at 12-under-272.
Lahiri's (67-71-68-66) last round effort helped him climb 18 spots on the leaderboard. On Sunday, Anirban sank six birdies and one bogey. Two of his birdies came from a distance of 34 feet and 48 feet.
Lahiri's performance at the BMW Championship helped him end the PGA Tour season in 51st position in the FedEx Cup standings. It was an improvement of 19 spots from his previous 70th position.
Anirban, being outside the top-30 on the PGA Tour, did not make it to the season-ending Tour Championship. His next event will be next week's Presidents Cup in New Jersey where he will be representing the International Team for the second time in his career.
At the Asian Tour's Shinhan Donghae Open being played in Korea, Rahil Gangjee finished tied 43rd at two-over-286 while Gaganjeet Bhullar closed the week in tied 55th at four-over-288.
