Rai placed tied 29th on day three of Singapore Open
Himmat Rai was the highest placed Indian on day three of the US$1 million SMBC Singapore Open. Himmat shot a two-over-73 in round three to be tied 29th at one-under-212. Rai trailed the clubhouse leader Liang Wen-chong of China by seven strokes.
The third round of the event co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and Japan Golf Tour was suspended due to darkness on Saturday.
A total of 15 players will return at 7.30 am on Sunday to complete their third round with the final round scheduled to commence at 8.20 am.
Among the other Indians, Rahil Gangjee was tied 51st at two-over-215, SSP Chawrasia was tied 62nd at five-over-218 and Shiv Kapur was tied 68th at seven-over-220.
At the PGA Tour’s Farmers Insurance Open, Anirban Lahiri (80-70) missed the halfway cut of one-under-143 by seven strokes as he totaled six-over-150 for the first two rounds.
