Jeev Milkha Singh enjoys a solid start in Abu Dhabi, shoots bogey-free 68 for a share of 14th place

Jeev Milkha Singh was off to a solid start at the European Tour's Abu Dhabi HSBC Golf Championship as he shot a bogey-free four-under-68 in the opening round to lie tied 14th. Germany's Martin Kaymer was the leader at eight-under-64.

Anirban Lahiri, playing his first season on the European Tour, ended with an even-par-72 to be placed tied 71st. Lahiri came up with two birdies and two bogeys on Thursday.

Shiv Kapur's four-over-76 placed him joint 113th. Kapur made a birdie and five bogeys in his first round.
