Rahman placed tied fourth at Queen’s Cup, Indians Das and Jaini in top-10
Jeev and Bhullar slip at Lyoness Open
PGTI member Md Siddikur Rahman (68-70) of Bangladesh posted a one-under-70 to be tied fourth after round two of the Queen’s Cup on the Asian Tour. Rahman’s total of four-under-138 placed him five shots behind the leader Poom Saksansin of Thailand.
The Indian duo of Shankar Das (70-70) and Manav Jaini (68-72) were in tied ninth place at two-under-140. While Shankar fired a one-under-70 to climb from overnight tied 16th to tied ninth, Manav’s one-over-72 saw him drop from overnight tied third to tied ninth.
PGTI member Md Zamal Hossain Mollah of Bangladesh also dropped from tied eighth to tied 18th after a round of 73 that moved his score to even-par-142.
Indians Anirban Lahiri and Rahil Gangjee occupied tied 24th place at one-over-143. Lahiri, the Asian Tour Order of Merit leader, followed up his first round of 75 with a brilliant 68 on day two.
Rashid Khan and Jyoti Randhawa were both in tied 34th place at two-over-144. Rashid struck a solid five-under-66 in round two which included seven birdies and two bogeys.
Chiragh Kumar placed tied 44th at three-over-145 and Digvijay Singh, who was a further shot behind in tied 56th were the other two Indians to make the cut.
The six Indians to miss the halfway cut of four-over-146 were Abhijit Chadha (147), Chikkarangappa (148), M Dharma (148), Angad Cheema (149), Sujjan Singh (151) and Abhinav Lohan (152).
At the European Tour’s Lyoness Open in Atzenbrugg, Austria, Jeev Milkha Singh was tied 61st at three-over-147 while Gaganjeet Bhullar was a further shot back in tied 66th.
Jeev’s second round 76 meant he slipped 35 places from overnight tied 26th. Gaganjeet’s 78 on Friday saw him drop 52 places from his overnight tied 14th.
Mikael Lundberg of Sweden emerged as leader at nine-under-135.
SSP Chowrasia, the third Indian in the field, missed the cut of four-over-148 by two shots.
