CAREER HIGHLIGHTS

 

  • Kapil Kumar posted a runner-up finish at the Pune Open 2022. He also had two other top-5 results in 2022 that helped him finish 20th in the TATA Steel PGTI Rankings.

 

  • Kapil currently holds the distinction of having three course records to his name, the most by any player on the PGTI. While Kapil is the sole holder of the course record of 10-under 62 at the Bhatiary Golf & Country Club in Chittagong, he is also the joint holder of the course records of seven-under 65 at Coimbatore Golf Club and eight-under 63 at Poona Club Golf Course.

 

  • Kapil recorded three top-10s on the PGTI in 2019. His best finish of the season was tied fifth at the ICC-RCGC Open Golf Championship.

 

  • Kumar claimed 18th place on the PGTI Order of Merit in 2018 thanks to his three top-10 finishes. His season-best came at the 17th TATA Open where he secured tied fifth place.

 

  • Kapil clinched a runner-up finish at the ONGC Masters 2017. He took 24th place on the PGTI Rankings that year.

 

  • An outstanding season which featured a runner-up finish at the IndianOil Servo Masters, a third place finish at the CG Open, two other top-10s and five other top-20s, saw Kapil register a career-best 13th rank on the PGTI’s money list in 2016.

 

  • In 2014, Kumar secured four top-10s and five other top-20s to be ranked 18th in the PGTI’s merit list. His two best results of the season were fourth at the PGTI Cochin Masters presented by CIAL Golf & Country Club and tied fourth at the PGTI Noida Masters.

 

  • Kapil had two top-10s and five other top-20s during the 2013 PGTI season. He thus finished 29th on the PGTI Order of Merit that year. His best result of the year was tied seventh at the IndianOil Servo Masters.

 

  • He secured second place at the 2012 PGTI Players Championship presented by Poona Club.

 

  • Kapil comes from a well-known golfing family in Delhi as his father Gast Ram too was a professional. Three of his cousins (Honey Baisoya, Ajay Baisoya and Pawan Verma) are also professional golfers who play on the PGTI.
