Rajesh Kumar Rawat of Lucknow shot a two-under-68 for the second round lead at the PGTI Feeder Tour event being played at the Forest Hill Golf Resort in SAS Nagar district of Punjab. Rawat’s total read one-under-139 at the end of round two. Delhi golfer Gulfam and Lucknow’s Sanjeev Kumar are in tied second at even-par-140.

The cut was declared at 11-over-151. Thirty-eight professionals made the cut.

Rajesh Kumar Rawat (71-68) climbed six places from overnight tied seventh, thanks to his second round of 68 which featured three birdies and a lone bogey. Rawat, who won his only event on the Feeder Tour back in 2011, made his move on the leaderboard with consecutive birdies on the fourth and fifth. The bogey on the seventh was followed by a birdie on the ninth. Rajesh consolidated his position with nine straight pars on the back-nine.

Rawat, who is currently second on the Feeder Tour Order of Merit, said, “I was on top of my game today and converted all the opportunities on the greens. I’m now well-placed for the final round. The key on the final day would be to start well. If I get a good start it could be difficult for others to catch up.”

Gulfam (67-73), the overnight joint leader, dropped one place to joint second after his score of 73 on Wednesday. Sanjeev Kumar (71-69) took a share of second place along with Gulfam as he carded a 69 on day two.
