Shubhankar Sharma became the youngest Indian winner on the European Tour at the age of 21 when we bagged the Joburg Open, a tournament jointly sanctioned by the European and Asian Tours, in December 2017. With a win and four other top-10s on the Asian Tour in 2017 he finished seventh on the Order of Merit in Asia. His other top result of the year was a tied fourth at the Bashundhara Bangladesh Open.

Sharma won the TAKE Open and the season-ending McLeod Russel Tour Championship on the PGTI in 2017.

In 2016, Shubhankar earned his first full card on the Asian Tour after coming through the Qualifying School. He enjoyed two top-5 results in his rookie season on the Asian Tour – third at the Bashundhara Bangladesh Open and tied fourth at the Resorts World Manila Masters – thus finishing inside the top-60 and earning an exemption for 2017.

He had an outstanding 2016 season on the PGTI having bagged three titles – PGTI Players Championship at Eagleton, Kolkata Classic and 15th TATA Open – along with seven other top-10s. He finished a career-high third on the Rolex Ranking in 2016.

Sharma finished sixth in the 2015 Rolex Ranking with four top-3s on the PGTI. He was joint runner-up at the PGTI Cochin Masters and runner-up at the TAKE Solutions India Masters (joint sanctioned by ADT and PGTI) during the year. He lost in the playoff to compatriot Chikkarangappa at the TAKE Solutions India Masters. He also finished tied fourth at the Asian Tour’s Panasonic Open India 2015.

Shubhankar was fourth at the Panasonic Open India 2014 (Asian Tour).

Sharma’s one win and six other top-10s during the 2014 PGTI season helped him finish 13th in the Rolex Ranking. His victory at the PGTI Cochin Masters made him the youngest winner on the PGTI at age 17. He holds that record till date.

In his rookie season on the PGTI in 2013, Shubhankar secured three top-10s. His best result was tied fifth at the 12th TATA Open.

Shubhankar won the All India Amateur Championship in 2013 at the age of 16.

Sharma was India’s No. 1 junior prior to turning professional in 2013.
