    Indians miss out on qualifying at the Open Qualifying Series in Thailand

    The five Indians in the field missed out on qualifying for the 2014 British Open after finishing outside the top-4 at the Open Qualifying Series in Thailand at the Amata Spring Country Club. Rahil Gangjee (71-72) posted an even-par-72 in the second and final round of the event to finish as the highest-placed Indian at tied 15th with a total score of one-under-143.

    Among the other Indians in the field, SSP Chowrasia (78-70) was placed tied 37th at four-over-148 while Chiragh Kumar (73-79) ended the tournament in tied 54th at eight-over-152

    Gangjee lies tied 15th at The Open Qualifying

    Rahil Gangjee was the highest-placed Indian after round one of the Open Qualifying Series - Thailand at the Amata Spring Country Club. Gangjee fired a one-under-71 to be placed tied 15th, three shots behind the leader Hiroshi Iwata of Japan. At the end of the two-day qualifying event, the top four players will qualify for this year's British Open which will be held in July

    Shiv Kapur (67-74-70-69) bagged tied 15th place at the European Tour’s Tshwane Open in South Africa after returning a 69 in the final round. Kapur finished with a tournament total of eight-under-280, 12 shots behind the winner Ross Fisher of England.

    India’s Rashid Khan won a thrilling playoff against Md Siddikur Rahman of Bangladesh at the SAIL-SBI Open 2014 presented by Incredible India Ministry of Tourism to lift his first Asian Tour title. The 23-year-old Rashid won at his home course, the Delhi Golf Club, after making birdie on the first playoff hole at the US$ 300,000 event co-sanctioned by the Asian Tour and PGTI.
